Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use evec.org.gr, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they rely on.
Last updated: 17 June 2026
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use evec.org.gr, including disabled people and anyone who uses a screen reader, keyboard, magnifier or other assistive technology.
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We treat accessibility as part of how we build and maintain the site, not as an afterthought.
What we have done
To make the site easier to use for as many people as possible, we have built it with the following in mind:
- Semantic headings and landmarks, so the page structure makes sense to screen readers.
- Visible keyboard focus outlines, so you can always see where you are on the page.
- Respect for your browser’s “reduce motion” setting, so animations calm down if you ask them to.
- Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning.
- Colour contrast that meets AA, with dark text on every coloured surface.
- Large touch targets that are comfortable to tap on a phone.
- Pages that are fully keyboard-operable, without needing a mouse.
- A layout that reflows down to small screens without losing content.
- Country names always shown alongside their flags, never colour or flag alone.
Known limitations
We are honest about the parts that do not yet fully conform. Some of these involve third-party content we embed:
- The embedded Google Map on the Contact page, which is provided by a third party and may not fully meet our standard.
- The muted, decorative background video in some page headers. It is purely decorative and is not needed to understand the page.
We are working to improve these where we can.
Conformance status
We consider evec.org.gr partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Most of the site conforms, with the exceptions noted in the section above. “Partially conformant” means that some content does not yet fully meet the standard.
How we test
We check the site ourselves as we build and update it. Our testing includes keyboard navigation, browser zoom and colour-contrast checks, along with a review of pages against the guidelines.
This is our own ongoing testing. We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit or certificate.
Tell us about a problem
If you hit a barrier on the site, or you need information from us in another format, please let us know. Email erasmus@evec.org.gr or call +30 21 2104 2017, and tell us what you were trying to do.
We aim to reply within 2 working days, and we will provide what you need in an accessible way.
