Get Involved · Local
Make a difference in your own city. Volunteer with us in Athens.
Join EVEC’s hands-on activities — grow food, help young people learn, and support real events — on a schedule that fits your life. No experience needed, just the will to help.
Why volunteer locally with EVEC
Hands-on, close to home, genuinely useful.
Local volunteering is the in-person complement to our online volunteering — it offers what online can’t: the living growing systems, the youth workshops, and the events.
Real, hands-on work
Grow microgreens, run urban-farming systems, help young people learn by doing.
Be part of a community
Join a warm, multicultural team and meet people from across Athens and Europe.
Learn by doing
Pick up new skills, from growing and facilitation to event work.
On your schedule
Come when you can; we’ll find something useful for the time you have.
Recognition
A certificate of participation and a reference for what you contribute.
Real impact
Your time directly powers our workshops, gardens and events.
Honest, up front: local volunteering is in-person, flexible and unpaid — not an EU-funded placement. What you gain is experience, community, recognition, and real impact.
Ways to help locally
Find your way to help.
These happen in person, in Athens. Pick what fits you — or tell us your own idea.
Grow with us
Help run our microgreens and urban-farming systems: planting, tending, harvesting, and keeping the growing space alive. The hands-on heart of what we do.
Help at our workshops
Assist our weekly seed-to-fork workshops for Athens youth — welcoming groups, guiding activities, and sharing the experience.
Events & community days
Lend a hand at multiplier events, awareness days, and community activities — setup, hosting, and making them run smoothly.
Capture the action
Photograph or film our activities on-site, so the rest of Europe can see EVEC’s work. For those with the skill and interest.
Welcome our internationals
Be a local buddy for incoming ESC volunteers and trainees — show them Athens and help them settle in.
Your own idea
Have a skill or passion you’d like to bring? Tell us — if it helps the mission, we’ll make room for it.

Who can join
Everyone’s welcome.
If you live in or near Athens, you can volunteer with us — any age, any background, Greek or English speaking. You don’t need experience or qualifications, just a few hours and the will to help. We welcome people with fewer opportunities and are happy to discuss adjustments so everyone can take part.
