🌿 What This Project Is About

This training builds on our successful youth exchange and supports the long-term goals of EVEC’s Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation.

Over five days, you will actively work with youth workers and young people from five European countries to:

  • 🌱 learn how to grow microgreens through real hands-on sessions
  • ✍️ turn practical knowledge into high-quality educational tools
  • 🤝 collaborate internationally to design a KA220 project
  • 🎄 explore Athens during the Christmas season

👤 Who This Training Is For

This project is ideal for:

No previous experience in microgreens is required — just motivation and curiosity.


🌱 What You Will Actually Do

🔧 1. Grow Microgreens from A to Z

You will:

  • 🔩 assemble a growing rack
  • 💡 install LED lights & ventilators
  • 🌿 prepare trays and compare soils
  • 🌾 seed various microgreens
  • ✂️ harvest microgreens grown at EVEC
  • 📦 wash, pack, and label them

You’ll document every step with photos and notes, forming the content for the Digital Grow Guide.


📘 2. Create a Digital Guide for Growing Microgreens at Home

Together with the group, you’ll create a complete guide covering:

  • 🌱 equipment needed
  • 💧 watering and lighting basics
  • 🐛 how to avoid common problems
  • 🥗 nutritional benefits & simple recipes
  • 🌍 sustainability tips
  • 🧼 food safety

This guide will later be graphically designed and published.


🛠️ 3. Create Two Youth Worker Toolkits

🎒 Toolkit A: Microgreens in Schools & Universities

For short workshops during school visits.
Includes:

  • 🔬 mini science activities
  • 🥗 tasting and sensory sessions
  • 🎨 youth-friendly creative tasks
  • 🌍 health & sustainability messages
  • 🤲 inclusion adaptations

🚀 Toolkit B: Microgreens for Young Entrepreneurs

For free workshops in EVEC’s office.
Includes:

  • 💼 basic business planning
  • 💸 simple cost calculation
  • 🏷️ branding & packaging ideas
  • 📱 digital marketing basics
  • 🤝 cooperative & group models

Both toolkits will be easy to use, practical, and ready for immediate implementation.


📘 4. Design a KA220 Erasmus+ Project

On the final day, you will collaborate internationally to design a KA220 project on:

  • 🌿 green skills
  • 🌱 microgreens & urban farming
  • 💡 youth entrepreneurship
  • 👥 inclusion
  • 🔗 digital education

You will outline objectives, activities, partner roles, and the structure of the project that EVEC will submit in Greece.

📅 16 December – Arrival Day & Orientation Walk

Participants arrive in Athens and settle into the accommodation. In the evening, we meet for an informal orientation walk around the neighbourhood:

  • 🌆 First look at Athens Christmas lights
  • 🍩 Street-food tasting (optional)
  • 🤝 Light social activities to get to know each other

A soft and friendly start before the working days begin.


🌱 17 December – Day 1: Practical Microgreens Lab + Drafting the Guide

A fully hands-on day.

  • 🔧 Assemble rack, install LED lights & ventilators
  • 🌿 Prepare trays, compare soils, seed microgreens
  • ✂️ Harvest microgreens grown earlier in EVEC
  • 📸 Document each step with photos
  • ✍️ Afternoon: Create Draft 1 of the Digital Growing Guide

💡 18 December – Day 2: Finalising the Digital Growing Guide

Deepening your knowledge with practical solutions.

  • 🐛 Troubleshooting (mold, weak growth, watering errors)
  • 🌍 Zero-waste & sustainability methods
  • 🥗 Nutrition basics & simple recipes
  • 🖼️ Add visuals, diagrams, and structure
  • 📘 Finish the final version of the Growing Guide

🎒 19 December – Day 3: What Are Toolkits? + Drafting Two Toolkits

Understanding youth worker methodologies.

  • 📚 Introduction to non-formal education toolkits
  • 🧑‍🏫 How youth workers use toolkits with different age groups
  • ✍️ Team drafting:
    1. Toolkit for Schools & Universities
    2. Toolkit for Young Entrepreneurs

🛠️ 20 December – Day 4: Finalising Both Toolkits

Bringing the toolkits to life.

  • 📝 Complete workshop plans & activity formats
  • 🎨 Create worksheets, visuals, facilitator notes
  • 🧠 Add Youthpass competence links
  • 🎒 Final versions of both toolkits are completed

📘 21 December – Day 5: KA220 Project Design Day

Full collaboration day.

  • 🎯 Define project objectives

  • 🔗 Integration of green skills, inclusion & digital components
  • ✈️ Outline international activities and timeline
